Set up IPTVZ on your Amazon Fire TV Stick or Fire TV in under 10 minutes.
Android phones and tablets, Android TV boxes and Google TV, with a player from Google Play.
Install a player directly on a Samsung Tizen or LG webOS Smart TV; no extra box needed.
Set up IPTVZ on your Formuler box with MyTVOnline, which comes pre-installed.
How to set up IPTV: the same four steps on every device
Every device above follows the same pattern. Only the app store and the menu names change.
- Install a player app. The player is the app you watch in; it comes with no channels of its own. Get it from your device’s app store. Formuler boxes come with MyTVOnline, and MAG boxes need no app at all.
- Add your login. Your welcome email (or trial email) has the details. Most apps use Xtream Codes; the table below shows the other types.
- Load the TV guide. With Xtream Codes it loads by itself, usually in 5 to 15 minutes. IPTVZ has guide data for 1,600+ US channels.
- Test a live channel. Open your local news and a sports channel, then save your favorites.
Which login type should I use?
| Login type | What you get | Where it works |
|---|---|---|
| Xtream Codes | A server URL, a username and a password | Most player apps, including TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro and MyTVOnline. Loads channels, movies, series and the guide in one step. |
| M3U link | One playlist address, plus a separate EPG link for the guide | Almost any player, including VLC on a computer |
| MAG portal | A portal URL linked to your device’s MAC address | MAG boxes, and Smart TV apps that use MAC activation |
Use Xtream Codes whenever your app offers it. Our Xtream Codes guide explains how it works.
Which device should I use for IPTV?
Start with what you already own. If you’re buying something new:
- Lowest cost: a Fire TV Stick or a Google TV device such as the onn 4K or the Google TV Streamer. Check the model first: the Fire TV Stick 4K Select only installs apps from Amazon’s Appstore.
- No extra box: a Samsung, LG or Hisense Smart TV with a player from the TV’s app store.
- Built for IPTV: a Formuler box, with MyTVOnline pre-installed, or a MAG box with a portal login.
- Apple household: an Apple TV 4K, iPhone or iPad with an App Store player.
- Phones and tablets: Android or iPhone, on Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Each device counts as one connection while it plays. IPTVZ plans cover 1 to 5 at the same time; compare them on the plans page. Buying a device? Our guide to the best device for IPTV compares the current options.
How to watch IPTV on a computer (Windows or Mac)
The quickest way needs almost no setup: VLC media player is free and plays M3U links.
- Install VLC from its official website.
- On Windows, open Media, then Open Network Stream. On a Mac, open File, then Open Network.
- Paste the M3U link from your welcome email and select Play.
- Open the playlist to browse channels: View, then Playlist on Windows; Window, then Playlist on a Mac.
VLC has no TV guide grid. If you want the full guide on a computer, ask our support team which desktop player to use.
IPTV setup questions
- What do you need to set up IPTV?
- A device (a Firestick, an Android or Google TV device, an Apple TV, a Smart TV, a Formuler or MAG box, or a phone), an IPTV login from a subscription or a free trial, a player app, and about 15 Mbps of internet per screen for HD or 25 Mbps for 4K.
- How do I install IPTV on my Smart TV?
- Open your TV’s app store, install a player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U and add your login. Some Smart TV apps use MAC activation instead: you send our support team the MAC address the app shows. See the Samsung and LG guide or the Hisense guide.
- How long does IPTV setup take?
- Most devices take 5 to 10 minutes. The TV guide can take a few extra minutes to load the first time.
- Do I have to pay for IPTV?
- For a service like IPTVZ, yes: plans start at $29.99 for 3 months. You can test it free for 24 hours with no card first. Many player apps are free, and some charge for extra features. Free, ad-supported services such as Pluto TV and Tubi also stream live channels.
- Can I use IPTV on a Roku?
- Yes, within limits. Roku runs its own system, not Android, so APK players such as TiviMate don’t install on it. You can add an IPTV player from the Roku Streaming Store, mirror a phone or computer, or plug in a streaming stick. Our Roku guide explains what works on a Roku and what does not.
- Can I use one subscription on several devices?
- Yes. Install the player on as many devices as you like; your plan sets how many can play at the same time, from 1 to 5.
- My device isn’t listed. Can I still use IPTV?
- Usually, yes. Any device that runs a player app with Xtream Codes or M3U support works. Tell our support team your device model and we will suggest an app.
- Is IPTV legal in the USA?
- IPTV itself is a legal technology, and the devices and player apps in these guides are legal. Whether a particular service is legal depends on whether it has the rights to what it streams; our explainer covers what US law says about IPTV.
